Shade Canyon Public Hearing

With the current public health status, EVERYONE is now welcome to attend the public hearing in person! Bring your kids, bring grandparents, bring aunts and uncles and friends. Let's fill that Student Center with Shade Canyon supporters!

Also, please change your Zoom profile picture to the Shade Canyon School logo so the Board can easily see you are a supporter. (If you need help downloading the logo in advance, please message us by July 19.)

For those attending in person: Please plan to arrive around 5:45 to pick up your free Shade Canyon sign (which doubles as a bumper sticker!) and get settled.

 

Directions to Kelseyville High School Tom C. Aiken Student Center: Turn into KHS near the big KHS sign on Main Street. Follow the road to the parking lot at the top of the hill. The Student Center is the big building closest to Main Street.  

Attire: Please wear blue or green to match Shade Canyon's logo colors as closely as possible.  

*Masks are required indoors for everyone over preschool age, except for those with medical exceptions.

Order of Program:  1) Brief Overview of Shade Canyon by Morgan and Savannah  2) Public Comments 3) Questions from Board Members

Public Comments: While we wish there were time for every Shade Canyon supporter to speak, we also want to respect the Board members’ time. So, we're coordinating with 15 or so Shade Canyon parents and supporters to represent the rest of us with public comments. They'll speak for 2 minutes each.

Your Role: Show the Board you care with your presence. At the end of our overview, Savannah and I will ask all supporters to raise their signs, as well as point out all the Zoom supporters online. Throughout the hearing, we ask that instead of applause, you raise your sign.  

Updated Vote Schedule: The KVUSD Board will now vote on whether to approve the Shade Canyon charter petition at their regular meeting on August 17, after considering our public hearing and receiving Superintendent Dave McQueen's petition findings on August 2.
